Roofing job done by Wolf Builders

Roofing services

We strip to the sheathing, replace what is soft, and rebuild the roof in the order it is supposed to go on. Storm work fills the calendar from May through September, and the goal on every job is a roof that survives the next storm.

Window Installation Services

Windows are usually a one-day job. The part that matters is what is behind them. We pull the old units, check the rough opening for rot, and set the new ones level and square so they still close easily in ten years.

Siding job done by Wolf Builders

Siding contractor services

Siding fails quietly. Water finds a bad flashing detail, runs behind the material, and shows up years later as soft sheathing. We take the old siding off, fix what is underneath, and only then put new siding on.

Common questions

What homeowners ask us first

Straight answers, including the ones that talk you out of spending money.

From the ground you usually cannot see it. Check the gutters, the downspouts, the AC fins and any metal vents instead, because thin metal dents before a shingle shows bruising. If you find dents there, get someone on the roof. In Minnesota the window to file is generally one year from the date of the storm, so check your policy before you wait.

If the damage came from hail or wind, often yes. Age and normal wear are not covered. What decides it is whether the damage is documented properly and whether the repair scope matches what the adjuster wrote, which is exactly why we meet them on the roof. We do not file the claim for you, and you should be careful with any contractor who offers to.

Architectural shingles are commonly rated for 25 to 30 years, and standing seam metal for well beyond that. Whether a roof actually reaches its rating comes down to what goes under the shingles and how well the attic breathes. A bargain underlayment or a starved attic can cut a roof short no matter what is on top, which is why we install the whole system and balance the ventilation on every job. Hail is what usually ends a roof early in this part of Minnesota, so we install Class 4 impact-rated shingles as well.

One day for most single family houses around the Twin Cities. Two for bigger or cut-up roofs, or when a lot of decking needs replacing. We tell you which one yours is at the estimate, not on the morning we show up.

It comes down to square footage, pitch, how many layers come off and the shingle you pick. The inspection and the written estimate are free either way, so the cheapest way to find out is to let us look.

No, and most customers are at work. We need the driveway clear and an outdoor outlet. Move the cars out, take anything fragile off the walls in the rooms directly under the roof, and we will text you when we start and when we finish.

Yes. Minnesota license BC#772450, general liability and workers compensation. We send the certificates before the first truck shows up, and you should ask every contractor bidding your roof for the same.
